Before we get into an update, I’d love to say thank you if you’ve shared a post on social media or told a family or friend member about us or posted about us on a neighborhood forum like Next Door.

We’ve been welcoming many first timers to Garth’s Brew Bar the last few weeks and right now word of mouth (even a masked one) is what is making all the difference in helping us survive this pandemic.

Open Hours

We’ll continue having outdoor seating available for you to enjoy as well as longer hours for to-go beer. We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to welcome you inside for dining soon, but that is currently up to the city to change.

Fortunately, we’ve been blessed with some wonderful weather and even some more wonderful drops of craft beer that’s worth chasing.

As a reminder of when you can swing by to drink a pint (or two or three) outside or to pick up brews to-go:

Tuesday-Friday: we’re open from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

Saturday-Sunday: we’re open from noon to 7:00 p.m.

And Monday is our day to enjoy a brew (or two or three) with our family so we’re closed

How’s Business?

When there are forces out of our control like not being able to open for indoor service or bad weather for drinking outdoors, success can be tough.

But it’s also times like these that the beer drinking community and our local neighbors [you!] show up to support all that we stand for.

From the bottom to the top of our hearts, thank you. This has unsurprisingly been a hard time for any business to thrive, but our business is staying as strong as we can with your help.

As always, if you have ideas for what more we can do or offer. We’re all ears.

Cicerone® Selected Six Packs

Browsing across our 95+ craft beer bottles and cans is fun, but if you’re short on time, know a certain style or theme of beer you want to buy or simply want to pick up some of America’s finest craft beers that a Certified Cicerone® (that’s me) is loving right now then grab a Cicerone® selected six pack from our beer cooler

Starting this week (and until we rotate new sixers in), you can swing in to grab a six pack of craft beers that fit the following themes:

• Summertime Sips: Beat the heat with this assortment of brews ranging from refreshing sours to sessionable beach brews that’ll surely bring you to your happy place.
• Lounging Lager Lover: It’s incredible how different one lager can taste from another. Enjoy a variety of classics, German and perhaps a Czech pilsner or two.
• Pucker Up: Reminiscent of childhood warheads, this six pack holds sours ranging from softly sweet to tightly tart.
• Hoppiness Is Happiness: Journey down the pleasant path of hoppy beers ranging from low IBU session IPAs to malty back-boned doubles.

We’ll be rotating the six packs based on weather, beer trends, and special requests. Aside from them being hand selected, we’ll also be including, from time to time, exclusive brews that you can only get within a curated six pack. We may even tuck in a few rare ones here and there. It’ll be like a beer lottery, but better (and legal ;)).

Madison Home Brewers And Tasters Guild

If you’re not currently a supporter of MHTG, it’s definitely worth looking into. I’ve met some fantastic friends within the group and, as a bar owner, have been able to put together some great events for the members. Coming up in a couple of weeks, I’ll be hosting a virtual meeting to share lessons on what you need to know to become a Certified Cicerone®.

Also, while normally I’d be volunteering at the Great Taste of the Midwest, my contribution this year is to inform you that they still have Great Taste Pint Cup’s available for you to order. 100% of the proceeds will go toward charitable contributions that would normally be funded through the Great Taste. An investment well worth making if you can.
